There is always chatter on this board about demographics changing and the
best recruits coming from the South. I have always believed that there is a trend and that there is less and less HS talent in the Midwest and more in the Southern regions. Here is a direct quote from a QB recruit who is coming to VT:
"Well, it was definitely a wake-up call. Everybody there was either a five-star or four-star player. So I didn’t really know what I was walking into, being from the Midwest, where a four-star is a bit rare, and they’re usually not quarterbacks. So at the Elite 11, there were 23 other quarterbacks that I had to compete against. So that was tough, and then, fortunately enough, I made it to The Opening, which was even tougher. It really just showed me what I’ll see in college, and that I’m not just playing against the Midwest anymore."
Just interesting to me that you are actually hearing it directly from the recruits now.
